Eid Al Adha

Also known as the "Sacrifice Feast", one of the two Muslim holidays celebrated worldwide each year. It is an Islamic festival to commemorate the willingness of Ibrahim (also known as Abraham) to follow Allah's (God's) command to sacrifice his son Ishmael.

This is my first eid here in KSA, and this time I spent half of it by  joining a tour, provided by our nursing service department, visiting tourist spots here in Riyadh.

First stop: Salaam Park

This is an aerial shot of Salaam Park. I do not own this Photo.

Having been here, in Riyadh, for almost six months now the only places that we've been visiting on our off days are mall, market, restaurant, and park.

If you are like me who are clueless on where to spend your free time, why not try visiting Salaam Park located in Salam St., Salam, Riyadh. You have just to pay 5 SAR/head for the entrance fee, and together with your group of friends and packed food, then you can just relax and enjoy the wonderful scenery.

I have to be honest, unlike the King Abdullah Park, I wasn't able to roam around Salaam Park. Basically we just find a nice spot and enjoy the food that was given and brought to us 😁. Given and brought to us, we are not aware that we have to bring foods so we came unprepared. Nevertheless, there are a lot of kiosks within the park where you can buy foods.

Next stop: Ad Dir'iyah

Al-Dir'iyah is viewed as an important symbol in the history of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It had emerged as the capital of the New Saudi State, and consider as an UNESCO World Heritage Site. We are able to roam around Al-Bujairi district - the gateway to the historic area of Al-Dir'iyah. Sadly, the palace and city ruins was inaccessible when we visited it, but that doesn't stop us in enjoying the majestic view, it's architectural design, and colorful display.

The place is open and free for the public, like Salaam Park, together with your picnic bags you can just let time passed by while enjoying the view and the company of your friends in Al-Dir-iyah.

Last stop: Wold Sights Park

Also known as Landmarks Park, located along Eastern Ring Road, Riyadh. Wherein for only 10 SAR (adults), 5 SAR (children) you can have a glimpse of the famous landmark around the world. We came in past eight in the evening, and due to the spotlight for the landmarks we where not able to obtain a nice picture with the landmarks. Nevertheless, it didn't stop us to enjoy the miniature model.

Note: The photos that I'll be sharing you is not mine.

That's it. How about you, how did you spend your Eid?
